Summer Solstice 2007 Update
Greetings Friends and Fellow Lightworkers!
2007 will certainly be recalled as a pivotal year in KD history. After more than five years of patiently and tirelessly working to lay the foundations of a self-sufficient spiritual community, the fruits have started to bear…. Or should we say, erupt.
In the bigger picture it would appear that the massive interest we are receiving is largely a reflection of the accelerating evolution of the conscious collective. With impending ecological collapse becoming evermore recognised and accepted, many are awakening to the consciousness and radical, fundamental changes in lifestyle that are imperative for safe passage of the Great Turning. May those who understand this urgency be inspired by growing intentional community movement and have the courage to take concrete action.
Meanwhile at KD… With the help of some hard-working volunteers and visitors the third natural dwelling is nearing completion, the new gardens are bursting with heirloom veggies, our water pipes have had a vital upgrade… And the third KD baba came down from the heavens one day before the solstice. Although not born on the farm, she was born, unassisted with only mother and father very present, outside under a clear night sky raining shooting stars. Signs of summer blooms are all around!
As we continue to hear from many souls in search of “the good life”, 2008 promises progressive growth. In support of the growing interest in ecovillage living here in South Africa we will set up a forum on our website to facilitate the networking of kindred spirits who are ready to move back to the land.
Primary communal projects for the coming year will include building dwellings for our integrating members (later to become accommodation for the learning centre), planting fruit trees, expanding our water catchments and focussing more on appropriate energy production.
