“LIVING is LEARNING is LOVING”

A Workshop on
ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLING OPTIONS

“LIVING is LEARNING is LOVING” was run in April this year. It was Khula Dhamma’s first workshop open to a paying public!

Parents and other interested members at Khula Dhamma were searching for responsible ways to school our children in an environment which is loving and child-centred. We had reached a point where making more firm decisions around our children’s education was becoming a priority. We have eight children under the age of 8 here at the moment.
We invited Sharon Caldwell, a Montessori educator and alternative education consultant and trainer from East London, to run the workshop.
We were asking the questions:
Is LOVE possible in school? What CHOICES do we have for our children’s education? What are the POSSIBILITIES? Are there EXISTING MODELS we could learn from?

It was a really good day – the participants from East London and even further afield left feeling challenged and informed – well, isn’t that one of Khula Dhamma’s objectives: to challenge and inform?!
